Liangnong Town lies in Yuyao, Ningbo, Zhejiang, at the northern foot of the Siming Mountains beside Siming Lake. It is a typical mountainous professional town where market channels drove industrial growth, and is recognized as China’s largest outdoor lighting production base. It has focused on outdoor lamps and poles for four decades, unlike Zhongshan Guzhen (indoor decorative lighting) and Yangzhou (outdoor lighting cluster).

The product matrix focuses on outdoor lighting: street lights, high-mast lights, garden lights, landscape lights, lawn lights, wall lights, ground-spike lights, floodlights, tunnel lights, industrial lights, solar lights, plus steel poles and smart poles. Unlike Guzhen’s indoor decorative focus, Liangnong’s strengths are complete-pole shipment, outdoor protection and engineering support.
Liaoyuan is the ceiling of Liangnong lighting. Founded in Liangnong in 1984, it grew into Ningbo Liaoyuan Lighting Group: 40 years of street lighting experience, products sold to 130+ countries and regions, 440,000 ㎡ of factory space, about 800 employees, 130+ invention patents, German GS, EU CE, ENEC and US UL certifications, and first-class urban and road lighting construction qualifications. Its projects include the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and Hangzhou Bay Bridge, LED road projects in Germany and the Netherlands, solar street lights in Dubai, solar projects in Guinea and Benin, and road projects in Australia. The headquarters later moved out, but it is the starting point of the town’s lighting DNA. The representative firm remaining in town is Ningbo Kanghui Lighting: founded in 2002, 300+ employees, 2 million sets of outdoor lighting annually, 400+ series and 1,500+ varieties, focusing on stainless steel and aluminum garden lights, lawn lights, wall lights, ground-spike lights and LED landscape lights. It holds TUV-issued CE and GS certificates, complies with RoHS/PAHS, passed BSCI audit in 2010, holds 141 patents, supplies the EU, South America and Australia year-round, with some products entering European hypermarket chains — a typical Liangnong garden-light and landscape-light OEM/ODM sample with voltage, plug, color temperature, surface finish, color box and manual customizable to destination markets.
Supporting capacity and testing are traditional strengths. Steel-pole bending, die-cast housings, powder coating and assembly can be sourced within the town and Yuyao. Since the lighting association was founded in 2003, firms have jointly attended fairs in Frankfurt, Dubai, Hong Kong and Guangzhou and set up a permanent showroom in Ningbo. In 2010 Ningbo’s first domestic CB laboratory landed in Yuyao; CB reports are recognized in 54 countries and can be converted into GS, TUV and other certificates through simple national-difference testing. Given the Siming Lake drinking-water source protection designation, local manufacturing is restricted, so local capacity focuses on sampling, small-batch customization and complete-pole shipments; large standard orders are usually handled jointly by relocated leaders such as Liaoyuan and firms in Yuyao and around Ningbo. Local firms keep moving up: a smart-pole line upgrade was completed in 2023, cross-border e-commerce firms were added, and traditional lighting is iterating toward smart, solar and cultural-tourism landscape lighting; Yuyao also has national high-tech firms such as Lixing Lighting for linked sourcing.
Logistics are buyer-friendly. After the Xiaxiang interchange opened in 2018, Liangnong is under 10 minutes from the expressway and about 40 km from Ningbo Lishe Airport. Sea freight goes through Ningbo Zhoushan Port — 1.377 billion tonnes of cargo in 2024, first globally for 16 consecutive years, and 39.3 million TEUs, third globally, with direct routes to Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Garden and lawn lights can be consolidated in LCL shipments, while poles and high-mast lights can go in full containers via roll-on/roll-off or flat racks.
The cluster suits municipal and road contractors, outdoor lighting distributors, European supermarkets and hardware chains, solar off-grid project buyers and cross-border e-commerce sellers. Street lights, high-mast lights, garden lights, landscape lights, lawn lights, floodlights, industrial lights, tunnel lights, steel poles and smart poles can be sourced in one stop within Liangnong and a 30 km radius of Yuyao. Sourcing tips: write CE/UL/GS, salt-spray and IP ratings, pole galvanizing thickness and warranty into contracts; use the local CB laboratory for pre-certification; complete pre-production sampling before repeating orders, and confirm the actual production entity and schedule in advance for large standard orders.
